How to choose the perfect Christmas bike
Buying a bike for a child
Wheel size matters more than age. Most children aged 2 to 4 start on a 12 inch balance bike, move to a 14 or 16 inch pedal bike between 4 and 6, then a 20 inch bike from around 6 to 9. Lighter bikes are easier to learn on, so look at weight as well as price. Our kids bikes can be filtered by age, wheel size and colour.
Buying a bike for a teenager
Teenagers usually ride a 24 inch or 26 inch wheel bike, or move on to a small adult frame once they pass around 150cm tall. Think about how they will use it. A mountain bike suits trails and jumps, a hybrid is better for the ride to school, and a BMX is perfect for skateparks and pump tracks.

For adults, start with where they ride. Hybrids are the most popular all rounder for commuting and leisure, gravel and road bikes are built for distance, and electric bikes take the effort out of hills and longer journeys. Order by 18 December for guaranteed delivery before Christmas. Stock and courier slots get busy in December, so the earlier the better.
