Up to 42% off your next bike, through your salary.
Cycle to Work is a government-backed salary sacrifice scheme. Your employer buys the bike and you pay it back from your gross salary — before tax and National Insurance — which is where the saving comes from.
- Basic-rate taxpayers typically save around 32% on the bike and accessories.
- Higher-rate taxpayers can save around 42%.
- Payments spread over 12–18 months, straight from payroll — no credit checks, no deposit.
- Covers accessories too — helmets, locks, lights and more can be added to your certificate.
We partner with all the major scheme providers — just ask your employer which one they use, get your certificate, and spend it with us. Using Green Commute Initiative? We've a dedicated GCI page — no £1,000 cap, so e-bikes qualify too.

Cycle to Work
If your employer runs a Cycle to Work scheme, you can pay for a bike out of your gross salary and save roughly 28% to 47% depending on your tax band. We accept vouchers from the schemes below. Email us to get started.
Why scheme prices differ from our website prices.
Every Cycle to Work provider charges the retailer a commission to process your voucher, and it comes out of an already heavily discounted price. Rather than raise our prices for everybody to cover it, we add that commission only to scheme orders, and we tell you exactly what it is before you apply. The rate is set by your scheme provider, not by us.
One scheme works differently. Cyclescheme's rules don't permit a commission surcharge, so we price those orders at the manufacturer's RRP instead. That is normally higher than our website price plus commission, so it's worth comparing before you choose a provider.
You'll still save. On a £1,000 bike through Bike2Work, the 10% commission takes the certificate to £1,100 — but a basic-rate taxpayer's 28% saving brings that down to around £792. A higher-rate taxpayer pays around £638. Two of the schemes below charge us nothing extra at all, so if your employer lets you pick a provider, check those first.

Ready to order?
Scheme orders aren't placed through our checkout, so please get in touch and we'll handle it for you. Send us the bike you'd like, the scheme your employer uses, and your budget if you have one. We'll reply with a written quote you can submit to your employer.
How it works
- Find out which scheme your employer uses. If they don't run one yet, Green Commute Initiative and Gogeta both let a company sign up quickly and at no cost.
- Email hello@discountedbikesshropshire.co.uk with the bike you want and the scheme name. We'll send a written quote showing the full price including any scheme commission.
- Submit the quote to your employer. Once approved, your scheme provider issues a certificate, voucher or letter of collection.
- Send us the certificate. We build the bike, safety-check it, and deliver free anywhere in mainland UK.
What you can include
Bikes, e-bikes and safety equipment — helmets, lights, locks, mudguards and reflective clothing. Children's bikes are not eligible under the scheme rules. Scheme orders can't be combined with sale prices, discount codes or finance offers.
Discounted Bikes is a trading name of NBA Trading Ltd. Savings shown are typical figures for basic, higher and additional rate taxpayers and depend on your own circumstances — your scheme provider's calculator will give you an exact figure. Commission percentages are the rates charged to us by each provider; where these are added, the full amount is shown on your quote before you apply, and nothing further is added at delivery. Scheme availability for providers marked "coming soon" is subject to our application being approved.

Did you know? You may be able to claim 20p per mile for work journeys.
Many people know about Cycle to Work. Far fewer know HMRC also lets employees claim 20p per mile for qualifying business journeys made on their own bicycle — with no mileage cap.
Important: this is not for your normal commute between home and your permanent workplace. It applies to business travel during your working day, such as:
- Travelling between company sites or to temporary workplaces
- Visiting customers, clients or suppliers
- Meetings and training courses away from your normal workplace
- Site inspections, property viewings, community visits and local business errands
Many employers already reimburse car mileage — if you cycle between sites, ask whether bicycle mileage is part of your travel policy.
What could your business miles be worth?
That's real money back in your pocket.
20 miles a week is just two short client visits a day, twice a week. Over a year that's £192 — enough to cover servicing, new tyres, lights and a decent lock.
Ride 50 business miles a week and it's £480 a year — your bike has effectively started paying for itself.
Buy your bike through Cycle to Work — then potentially earn 20p per mile every time it works for you.

A cycling workforce isn't just a nice-to-have — it shows up on the bottom line. Here's what employers get out of it:
- Save National Insurance on every certificate — employers keep ~15% of each salary-sacrifice amount. A team spending £10,000 on bikes saves the business around £1,500.
- Free to set up and run — the major scheme providers charge employers nothing; payroll does the rest.
- Reduced parking pressure and travel costs — every bike commuter frees a parking space, and cycle mileage at 20p/mile costs a fraction of the 45p/mile car rate.
- A healthier, more reliable workforce — regular cyclists take measurably fewer sick days and arrive sharper.
- Real progress on net-zero reporting — commuting and business-travel emissions drop with every rider, with the numbers to prove it.
- Recruitment & retention — a genuinely valuable benefit that costs the business nothing to offer.
- Often faster between sites — in town traffic, the bike usually wins.
