All Kids Bikes
Kids bikes, explained.
Kids bikes are sized by wheel diameter, not frame size — from 10" balance bikes for toddlers up to 26" wheels for confident pre-teens. The right size is the single biggest factor in how quickly and happily a child learns to ride.
A good kids bike is light enough for the child to handle themselves: cheap heavy bikes are the number one reason kids give up. Our Hoy, Squish, Shyre and Frog ranges are built specifically around lightweight frames, child-sized brake levers and easy gearing.
Buy with growing room — knees shouldn't hit the bars — but never "to grow into" by more than one size, as an oversized bike is hard to control and knocks confidence.
What they are
Properly engineered lightweight bikes scaled to children — not shrunken adult bikes — from balance bikes to junior 26" wheels.
Getting the right size
Match wheel size to age and height: 12" (2–4yrs), 16" (4–6), 20" (5–8), 24" (8–11), 26" (10–12). Our wheel size guide does it for you.
Good to know
Lightweight matters more than gadgets — a child can't enjoy a bike they can't handle. All our kids bikes come with a 12-month warranty.
