24" wheel bikes, explained.
24" wheel bikes are the last stop before adult sizing — for riders roughly 7 to 11 (130–150cm). This is where proper hardtail mountain bikes, wider gear ranges and faster riding arrive.
It’s also the hardest size to buy well cheaply: a light 24" costs more to make, and a heavy one is a real handicap. End-of-line branded stock is the smart play here.
Sizing
From about 130cm tall. Riders pushing 150cm may fit a small 26" or 13" adult frame better.
Who it suits
24" wheels typically suit ages 7–11 — but height beats age every time. When in doubt, measure.
