The Ridge 1.0 is the way into Claud Butler's electric mountain bike range and the sibling of the best-selling Wrath — the same integrated-battery, hub-motor formula, and one of the more accessible routes into powered off-road riding from a UK heritage brand.

Who it fits

Large frame, recommended for riders 5'10" to 6'2" (178–188cm). Medium covers 5'4" to 5'10" (162–178cm) and is the identical specification. If you're on the boundary, send us your height and inside leg and we'll tell you which way to go.

• Motor: Bafang rear hub, 32Nm torque, 5 power modes plus walk assist for pushing up steep ground
• Battery: 375Wh integrated, up to 40 miles / 64km, full charge in 5 hours, removable with keys and key-locked
• Gears: Shimano Altus 1x8 with a wide-range 11–40T cassette for steeper climbs
• Brakes: cable disc — chosen deliberately because they're straightforward to maintain at home
• Suspension: 120mm travel fork with hydraulic lockout
• Chassis: 27.5" (650b) wheels with 2.35" tyres, 780mm bars, 50mm stem, Selle Royal saddle, lock-on grips

Stepping up: the Ridge 2.0 is the same platform with 45Nm of torque, Shimano Cues 1x9, hydraulic discs and a colour display.

No showroom. No shop floor. No stock sitting in a warehouse depreciating. Your bike is picked and dispatched from the manufacturer's own facility and comes straight to your door.

A traditional bike shop has to cover premises, staff and stockholding before it makes a penny, and that has to come out of the ticket price. We don't carry those costs, so we're not asking you to pay for them.

What you don't lose: full manufacturer warranty, because we're an authorised dealer and not a grey importer. A real person to talk sizing through with before you order. And the option of a professional build so it arrives ready to ride.

Delivery and build

Free UK mainland delivery. Bikes ship boxed and part-assembled as standard. Add our professional build and safety check at checkout and a qualified mechanic assembles, adjusts and safety-checks the bike before it leaves — a real workshop job, and entirely optional. On a bike with disc brakes and a suspension fork it's worth having done properly.
