The Alpina range was rebuilt from the ground up for 2024 — new frame, modern trail geometry, Shimano Cues throughout — and the brief was a bike that could handle UK trail centres rather than just fire roads. The 1.0 is the entry point, with a 2x9 drivetrain that covers everything from canal towpath miles to proper off-road riding.

Who it fits

Large 19" frame with 29" wheels. As a general guide that suits most riders around 5'9" to 6'1", with the 17" Medium below and 21" X Large above. Frame sizing varies with leg length as much as height, so send us your inside leg measurement and we'll confirm before you order.

What you're getting

• Gears: Shimano Cues 2x9 with a 22/36T chainset and 11–36T cassette — a wide spread for climbing and cruising alike
• Brakes: Shimano MT200 hydraulic discs
• Geometry: built around a 100mm fork and 29" wheels, with longer top tubes and slacker head angles. Short 45mm stem and wide 750mm bars for a planted, controlled feel
• Tyres: 29x2.25" WTB Ranger — fast-rolling with good puncture resistance and grip across mixed trail conditions

Stepping up: the Alpina 2.0 swaps to a 1x10 drivetrain with a wide-range 11–48T cassette and a narrow/wide chainset.

A traditional bike shop has to cover premises, staff and stockholding before it makes a penny, and that has to come out of the ticket price. We don't carry those costs, so we're not asking you to pay for them.

What you don't lose: full manufacturer warranty, because we're an authorised dealer and not a grey importer. A real person to talk sizing through with before you order. And the option of a professional build so it arrives ready to ride.

Delivery and build

Free UK mainland delivery. Bikes ship boxed and part-assembled as standard. Add our professional build and safety check at checkout and a qualified mechanic assembles, adjusts and safety-checks the bike before it leaves — a real workshop job, and entirely optional. Hydraulic brakes are worth having set up by someone who does it every day.
