Falcon Maverick Mountain Bike, 19"

Blacked-out componentry, deep profile rims and a suspension fork — the Maverick looks like a far more expensive bike than it is. Underneath the styling it's a sensible, hard-wearing steel hardtail with 18 gears and plenty of adjustment to get the fit right.

Who it fits

19" frame, suitable for age 12 and up with an inside leg measurement of 75–90cm (29–35"). Measure from the floor to the crotch with shoes off. The long seatpost and quill stem give a lot of height adjustment, so it will keep fitting a growing teenager for a good while. Smaller rider? The Falcon Vienne is the 17" frame.

What you're getting

• Frame and fork: strong steel frame with front suspension to smooth out bumpy ground
• Gears: 18 speed with a Shimano rear derailleur and Microshift rotational shifters
• Brakes: V-brakes front and rear — simple to adjust and cheap to maintain
• Wheels and tyres: deep profile alloy rims with 1.95" MTB tyres that grip in all weather
• Fit: long seatpost, quill stem and a saddle with rail adjusters for front-to-back tuning

Why we can price like this

We're an authorised Falcon dealer — but we don't run a shop.

No showroom. No shop floor. No stock sitting in a warehouse depreciating. Your bike is picked and dispatched from the manufacturer's own facility and comes straight to your door.

A traditional bike shop has to cover premises, staff and stockholding before it makes a penny, and that has to come out of the ticket price. We don't carry those costs, so we're not asking you to pay for them.

What you don't lose: full manufacturer warranty, because we're an authorised dealer and not a grey importer. A real person to talk sizing through with before you order.
