Dawes Cambridge 17/26" Mint

The Dawes Duchess is one of the most recognisable British bikes ever built. The Cambridge takes that template — the swept lines, the upright position, the rattan basket — and rebuilds it at a price that doesn't ask you to treat it as an heirloom. This is the mint finish, the lighter of the two.

Who it fits

17" step-through frame on 26" wheels. As a general guide that suits most riders around 5'2" to 5'7", with the 19" frame above it. Send us your height and inside leg and we'll confirm before you order.

What you're getting

• Frame: step-through heritage design, so you can ride it in a skirt or work clothes without a second thought
• Riding position: upright and relaxed, built for comfort over distance rather than speed
• Contact points: the grips, saddle, pedals and brake levers have all been specified for comfort — they're what you actually feel on a ride, and they're usually where a budget heritage bike cuts corners
• Basket: rattan front basket, fitted as standard

Also available: the Cambridge in plum, and both colours in a 19" frame.

Why we can price like this

We're an authorised Dawes dealer — but we don't run a shop.

No showroom. No shop floor. No stock sitting in a warehouse depreciating. Your bike is picked and dispatched from the manufacturer's own facility and comes straight to your door.

A traditional bike shop has to cover premises, staff and stockholding before it makes a penny, and that has to come out of the price you pay. We don't carry those costs, so we're not asking you to cover them.

What you don't lose: full manufacturer warranty, because we're an authorised dealer and not a grey importer. A real person to talk sizing through with before you order.
