Claud Butler Primal Gravel Bike, 54cm Blue

One bike that covers the jobs most people buy two or three for. The Primal is Claud Butler's adventure and gravel model — built on the same chassis as the well-received Radical, with components chosen to bring the price down without piling on weight. Commute on it through the week, load it up at the weekend, take it down a towpath or a green lane.

Who it fits

54cm frame — the middle of the three, sized road-style rather than by mountain bike inches. As a general guide that suits most riders around 5'6" to 5'10", with 50cm below and 58cm above. Drop-bar sizing is less forgiving than a flat-bar bike, so send us your height and inside leg and we'll confirm before you order.

What it's for

• Commuting: quick enough on tarmac to make a daily ride worthwhile
• Weekend adventure: happy on gravel tracks, canal towpaths and green lanes
• Touring: geometry built for longer days rather than short sharp efforts
• Versatility: the reason it makes sense — one bike instead of a road bike and a hybrid

Full component specification is available on request — message us and we'll send it over before you buy.

Why we can price like this

We're an authorised Claud Butler dealer — but we don't run a shop.

No showroom. No shop floor. No stock sitting in a warehouse depreciating. Your bike is picked and dispatched from the manufacturer's own facility and comes straight to your door.

A traditional bike shop has to cover premises, staff and stockholding before it makes a penny, and that has to come out of the ticket price. We don't carry those costs, so we're not asking you to pay for them.

What you don't lose: full manufacturer warranty, because we're an authorised dealer and not a grey importer. A real person to talk sizing through with before you order.
